Buy SMS credits

For shops in India

In India, BytePhase sends your SMS for you, and each SMS uses credits. Outside India, you send SMS through your own SMS provider instead, so you don’t buy credits from BytePhase. See SMS credits and SMS providers.

Use this when your SMS credits are running low, or SMS has stopped going out because credits ran out.

Before you start

• You need to be able to open settings. If you can’t see your SMS credits in your profile menu, ask your shop owner.
• You can’t buy credits in the iPhone app. Sign in from a web browser instead.

Steps

1. Open your profile menu.

   • Computer: click your name at the top right.
   • Phone: tap More, then tap your profile picture at the top right.

2. Next to your plan, look for SMS: and the number of credits left, for example “SMS: 120 credits left”. It turns red when you’re running low.

3. Click it.

   The SMS packs page opens.

4. Pick a pack and click Buy now.

5. Check your Billing details and the Order summary. Then click Proceed to payment.

6. Pay on the payment page.

   You see “Payment successful”.

Done!

The credits are added to your account straight away. They never expire, so you can buy a bigger pack and use it over time.

See where your credits went

Open Settings › Customers & messaging › SMS. Each SMS your shop sent is listed with the mobile number, the message, the credits it used and whether it was sent.

Good to know

• New accounts start with a few free credits, so you can try SMS straight away.
• You can also get to the SMS packs from Billing & plans: click SMS credits at the top right.
• When credits run out, SMS stops until you top up. Email, WhatsApp and app messages keep working.
• In India, every SMS uses a fixed, approved wording. You can’t change the text of SMS messages.
