Connect PhonePe

Available on Standard and above

PhonePe needs the Standard or Enterprise plan. The payment options work for shops in India.

Compare plans

Use this to get paid through PhonePe. From BytePhase you can send a payment request to the customer’s phone, show a payment QR code, or start a card payment on your PhonePe card machine.

Before you start

• You need a PhonePe business account with a Merchant ID. For a card machine, you also need your Store ID and each machine’s Terminal ID.
• Don’t see Set up? Ask your shop owner to let you connect integrations.

Get your PhonePe details

• Merchant ID: no PhonePe business account yet? Contact BytePhase support. We put you in touch with the PhonePe for Business team. They help you sign up and ask for a few documents to check your business. Approval usually takes 3 to 4 working days, so ask early.
• Store ID and Terminal ID: find them in your PhonePe merchant dashboard, in the card machine (EDC) section. Your PhonePe account manager can also give them to you. Type each Terminal ID exactly as the dashboard shows it.
• PhonePe sends the money to your own settlement account, as it does for any merchant. BytePhase never holds it.

Set up PhonePe

1. Go to Settings › Integrations. On the PhonePe card, click Set up.

   The Set up PhonePe window opens.

2. Enter your Merchant ID.

3. If you use a PhonePe card machine, enter your Store ID. Then click Add terminal and fill in the Terminal ID and Terminal name. Tick Active. Add one terminal for each machine.

4. Leave Service status as Active and click Save.

Take a payment

1. Open the job, invoice or sale and choose Add payment. For a job, it’s under Job actions.

   The Select payment method window opens.

2. Pick one:

   • Add payment: record money you’ve already received, as usual.
   • Collect payment: check the Mobile number and Amount. Click Collect payment to send a payment request to the customer’s phone, or Generate QR code to show a QR code they can scan. Use Check status to see if they’ve paid.
   • Card machine payment: send the amount to your PhonePe card machine. The customer pays by card or by scanning a UPI QR on the machine.

3. When the customer pays, the payment is added to the job, invoice or sale.

Done!

You can now take payments through PhonePe right from the job, invoice or sale.

Good to know

• To see every payment request and its result, go to Billing › Collect payments (UPI/QR).
• If Card machine payment says “No card machines added yet”, add a terminal in Set up PhonePe and tick Active.
• To cancel a payment already started on the card machine, cancel it on the machine itself.
• Outside India, Add payment goes straight to recording a payment, without the PhonePe options.
