If you have two businesses in BytePhase, each one has its own parts and its own stock count. A part always belongs to the business it was added in, and it can’t be moved to another business.

There’s no stock transfer button. To move parts, take them out of stock in one business and add them in the other, using Adjust stock in each business. For example, you send 5 phone screens from your main shop to your second business.

  1. Reduce the stock in the business that sends the parts. Switch to that business, open the part in Inventory and click Adjust stock. Choose “Reduce(-)”, type the number, and add a remark such as “Moved 5 to second business”.
  2. Switch to the business that receives the parts. Click the business name at the top of the left menu (on a phone, in the top bar) and pick the other business. See Switch between your businesses.
  3. Find the same part there. If the part isn’t in this business’s Inventory yet, add it first, with Opening stock 0.
  4. Add the stock. Open the part, click Adjust stock, choose “Add(+)”, type the same number and a remark such as “Received 5 from main shop”.

Both changes show on each part’s Stock history tab, with your remarks. For step-by-step help with Adjust stock, see See a part’s stock history and adjust stock.

  • Prices stay separate. Each business keeps its own purchase and selling price for the part. Check them after you add the part to the second business.
  • Same name is fine. Two businesses can each have a part with the same name. Within one business, part names must be different.
  • Starting a new business? When you duplicate a business, you can copy its Inventory. The parts are copied with their details, but stock starts at 0 in the new business. Then add the stock you’re moving, as in step 4. See Add a second business, or archive one.
  • Jobs and sales use their own business’s stock. On a job or sale you can only pick parts of that document’s business. See What each business has of its own, and what’s shared.
