Use this when a customer buys something over the counter, for example a charger and a screen guard. A sale is for items from your stock. Repair work goes on a job instead.

  • Ask your shop owner to let you create sales (Sales — Create & edit). To take the payment on the same screen, you also need to be allowed to record payments.
  • Add the items to Inventory first if you want stock to go down and the item to be easy to find. You can also type an item by hand.
  • If you run more than one business, pick the right business in the switcher first. The sale keeps that business’s name, logo and number series.
  1. In the left menu, click Sales. Then click + (Add sale) at the top of the list.

Shortcut: press Alt+S from anywhere. The Create sale screen opens full size, with the sale number in the title.

  2. In Customer name, choose the customer. For someone you don’t need to save, click Walk-in.

  3. In the items box (Search parts by name or SKU), type a name or SKU and press Enter to add it. Or click Scan barcode to scan the item.

Not in your stock? Choose Add item manually.

  4. Change the quantity or price on a row if you need to. Add a discount in the totals box.

  5. Under Payment information, choose the Payment mode and type the Amount the customer pays. Balance due shows what’s left.

Leave the amount empty if the customer pays later.

  6. At the top, click Create.

The Sale created window opens: “The sale is recorded and stock is updated.”

  7. Under Print, click Document or Thermal. Or tick how to send the bill under Notify customer and click Send & close.

  • The sale is the bill. There’s no separate invoice to create for a sale. See Job invoice or sale invoice?
  • Paid later? Open the sale and add the payment when the money comes in. See Record a payment.
  • PhonePe QR. On the Standard plan and above, with PhonePe connected, you also see Create sale & generate payment QR. See Collect payments with PhonePe.
  • Leaving without saving asks “Discard this sale and go back? Anything you entered will be lost.”
