If your account has two businesses, the business switcher shows which one you’re working in. Your lists, filters and new documents follow that business.

  • You need at least two active businesses. With one business, the switcher just shows its name.
  1. Find the business name. On a computer, it’s at the top of the left menu. If the menu is folded away, it’s in the top bar. On a phone, it’s in the top bar.

  2. Click or tap it. The list shows You are working in and your businesses. The current one has a tick.

  3. Pick the business you want.

The screen reloads. Your jobs, invoices, sales, stock and other lists now show that business.

The switcher always points at one business. To see the figures of every business together, use the Business filter in reports or on the dashboard and pick All businesses.

Customers, leads, tasks and the customer ledger are shared, so they show the same figures whichever business you pick.

  • Each browser tab remembers its own business. You can have one business open in one tab and the other in a second tab. A tab you open from a link inside the app may start in the same business as the tab it came from, so check the name at the top before you create anything.
  • Saved documents never move. Switching doesn’t change which business an existing invoice or job belongs to. See A document always keeps its own business.
  • Deactivated or archived businesses don’t appear in the switcher.
  • If a business you were using is switched off, you see “The selected business is no longer available. Switched back to the default business.”
