Guided tours

A guided tour shows you around a screen. It highlights one part at a time and explains what it does. Some tours start by themselves the first time you reach a screen. You can watch any tour again from the Guided tours list.

Open the tours list

• Computer: click your name at the top right. At the bottom of the menu, click Guided tours.
• Phone: on the More screen or the Dashboard, tap your profile picture at the top right. Then under Help & support, tap Guided tours.

The Guided tours window lists every tour you can watch. Click Start next to a tour. BytePhase opens the right screen first, then starts the tour.

Who sees which tour

• Tours are for staff. Customers with a login don’t see them.
• A Computer tour only shows on the computer layout. Most tablets use this layout too. A Phone tour only shows on the phone layout.
• Some tours only show in certain cases:
  • Set up tax rates: the business you’re in is registered for GST or tax.
  • Multiple businesses: you can switch between businesses or manage them.
  • Adding parts & services: you can add parts or services to jobs.
  • Print settings and Find any setting: you can open Settings.
  • Job cards on mobile and What’s new: you can see jobs.

Tours that start by themselves

• The Welcome tour starts once, on a computer, right after the admin finishes the setup wizard.
• The other “Yes” tours wait until you have visited their screen on an earlier day. Then they start the next time you open that screen.
• If you close a tour early, it comes back a couple of days later. Once you finish it, it won’t start by itself again.
• No more than one tour starts by itself each day. A tour never starts on top of another open window.

Show me how

In the setup checklist, some tasks have a matching tour. These tasks show Show me how. Click it to close the checklist and start the tour on the right screen. This works for Create your first repair job and Set up tax rates, on a computer only.
