I'm not getting BytePhase notifications on my Android phone

New jobs, payments or quotation replies don't pop up on your Android phone. Check the app's notification permission and your preferences.

What you see: you use the BytePhase Android app, but you don’t get pop-up alerts when a job is assigned to you, a payment comes in or a customer replies to a quotation.

  • Alerts come only to the BytePhase app you’re signed in to. They don’t come if you only use BytePhase in a phone browser.
  • After you sign in, the app asks you to Allow notifications. If you tapped Remind me later or said no to Android, alerts stay off.
  1. In the app, tap More, then under System tap Settings.
  2. Under Team & access, tap Permissions. This page is about your phone’s permissions, not staff rights.
  3. Next to Notifications, tap Allow notifications.
  4. If you see “Notifications are off”, tap Open settings. In Android’s settings for BytePhase, turn Notifications on.
  5. Go back to BytePhase. You see “Notifications enabled”.

You can also reach this page from your profile menu: App permissions.

2. Check Android hasn’t silenced the app

Section titled “2. Check Android hasn’t silenced the app”
  1. Open your phone’s Settings › Apps › BytePhase › Notifications.
  2. Make sure notifications are on, and that no category is switched off.
  3. Turn off Do not disturb if it’s on.

On the Standard plan and above, each person can choose which alerts they get.

  1. Open your profile menu and choose Notification preferences.
  2. For each alert you want, make sure In-app is ticked.

Signing in again links your phone to your login afresh.

  1. Open your profile menu and sign out.
  2. Sign in again and tap Allow notifications when asked.

If you recently used Sign out on another device in Signed-in devices, your other phones re-link by themselves the next time the app opens.

Contact support and send:

  • your phone model and Android version
  • the BytePhase app version (in your phone’s app info for BytePhase)
  • which alert you expected, and when
