Does BytePhase work offline?

BytePhase needs an internet connection to save and load your work. Here's what you see on a computer and in the phone app when the internet drops.

offline, work offline, offline mode, no internet, without internet, internet down, internet not working, no network, no signal, mobile data, wifi off, you're offline, can't reach BytePhase, check your internet connection, connection lost, app not opening, sync later
Works on computer and phoneIncluded in every plan

No. BytePhase is online software: your jobs, customers, bills and stock are kept safely on our servers, not on your computer or phone. To save anything or see the latest data, you need an internet connection.

This is the same for the website, the app you install from your browser, and the Android and iPhone apps. Your saved data isn’t lost when the internet drops. You just can’t use BytePhase until you’re back online.

Where you use BytePhase What happens
Android or iPhone app, internet drops while you work A You’re offline screen opens. When the internet comes back, it closes by itself and takes you back to the screen you were on. You can also tap Retry.
Android or iPhone app, opened with no internet The app shows You’re offline, or Can’t reach BytePhase if your phone is online but can’t reach us. It keeps trying, and opens BytePhase as soon as it can.
Computer or browser The page stays on screen, but saving or loading fails. You see the message “Check your internet connection”.
  • Save as you go. Anything you saved is safe. If the internet dropped while you were typing a new job or bill, check that screen when you’re back, and type it again if it wasn’t saved.
  • The app can open but not work. On a computer, the BytePhase page itself may still open from your browser’s memory. Screens you looked at recently can show an older copy, but you can’t save until you’re online again.
  • Nothing is saved for later. BytePhase doesn’t keep a queue of changes to send when you reconnect. Each save needs the internet at that moment.
  • Open any other website. If it doesn’t load either, the problem is your internet connection.
  • If other websites work but BytePhase shows Can’t reach BytePhase, wait a minute and tap Retry. If it keeps happening, contact support (support@bytephase.com).
