The printout shows the wrong business details
Why an invoice or job sheet shows your other business's name, logo, tax number or bank details, and how to fix it.
wrong logo, wrong business name, wrong GST number, wrong tax number, wrong bank details, wrong UPI QR, wrong address on invoice, other business on print, company details, firm details, letterhead, business switcher, multi-business, wrong name on bill, other shop name on invoice, wrong details on print, wrong QR code, print shows other businessNeeds the Standard plan or higher. See plans
What you see: you run more than one business. A printed or shared document shows the other business’s name, logo, tax number, address, bank details or payment QR.
Every document prints the details of the business that created it. The business picked in the switcher doesn’t change that. The switcher only decides what you see on screen. The same is true for a downloaded PDF and for a copy you share on WhatsApp, SMS or email.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Having two businesses needs the Standard plan or above.
Try these fixes
Section titled “Try these fixes”1. Check which business created the document
Section titled “1. Check which business created the document”A new job, quotation, invoice or sale is created for the business picked in the switcher at that moment. The form shows this above the fields: “Creating job for” and the business name.
After you save it, the document keeps that business for good. Switching business later doesn’t change what prints. You can’t move a saved document to another business.
- Switch to the correct business.
- Create a new document there.
- Cancel or delete the wrong one, if your shop allows it.
- The wrong document used the other business’s number series, so check your numbering afterwards.
2. Fix the business’s own details
Section titled “2. Fix the business’s own details”Sometimes the business is right but its details aren’t. For example, an old logo, a missing tax number or the wrong bank account. A business never borrows another business’s logo, bank account or UPI QR. If one is missing, it’s simply left off the print.
- Open Settings › Business settings.
- Open the business and correct its details: identity, tax, contact, branding and payments.
- Print the document again. It picks up the new details. Its number and amounts stay the same.
3. Change print settings for the right business
Section titled “3. Change print settings for the right business”Each of your businesses has its own print settings: theme, fields, columns and terms. If you changed them while business A was picked, business B’s documents keep B’s settings. The line at the top of Print settings shows which business you’re changing: “These settings apply to” and the business name.
- Switch to the document’s business.
- Open Settings › Documents & printing › Print settings and make the change there.
4. Older documents belong to your first business
Section titled “4. Older documents belong to your first business”Documents created before you added a second business belong to your default business. They keep printing its details.
Nothing is wrong here. If you need the document under the other business, create a new one there.
Still not working?
Section titled “Still not working?”Contact support and send:
- the document number (job, invoice, quotation or sale) and the business you expected on it
- the business picked in the switcher when you printed it
- a screenshot or PDF of the printout, with the wrong details visible
