e-invoice and e-way bill (India)

BytePhase doesn’t create GST e-invoices or e-way bills. It doesn’t connect to the government’s e-invoice portal, so your invoices don’t get an IRN (Invoice Reference Number) or the signed e-invoice QR code. It also doesn’t make e-way bills for moving goods.

If your business has to issue e-invoices or e-way bills, create them on the GST portal or in your accounting software, using the details from your BytePhase invoices.

What your BytePhase GST invoice includes

When your business is GST registered, your job invoices and sale invoices carry what a normal GST tax invoice needs:

On the invoice	Where it comes from
Title “Tax Invoice”	Set when the business is created. You can change it in Print settings.
Your GSTIN	The GST number in the business’s tax details
Your customer’s GSTIN	The GST number saved on the customer. Turn on Tax/GST number under Customer details in Print settings.
HSN / SAC for each item	The HSN code on each part and repair service. Turn on the HSN / SAC column in Print settings.
Tax split, for example CGST 9% and SGST 9%	The tax rate on each item. Set up the split once in Tax settings.
Tax summary	Worked out from the items, after any discount

Give the numbers to your accountant

• Tax compatible export. On the job invoices or sales list, open More options › Export and click Tax compatible export. You get an Excel file with each invoice’s customer and GST number, items, tax amount, CGST, SGST and IGST, totals and your own GSTIN. The sales export also has each item’s HSN code. • Accounting software. On the Standard plan and above you can send invoices to QuickBooks or Xero. See Connect QuickBooks or Xero.

Not registered for GST?

Tax compatible export and the GST details on prints only show for a business that’s GST registered.
