Your account, businesses and branches
Your BytePhase account holds everything. A business is a name you bill under inside it. A branch is a separate shop on Enterprise.
workspace, business, branch, company, firm, shop, account, tenant, location, outlet, franchise, multi-business, multi-branch, switch business, GST number, billing identity, my account, second business, two businesses, bill under another name, second shop, other shop, which business, change businessYour BytePhase account is what you signed up for: one web address, one subscription, one team and one customer list. Inside it you can bill under one or more businesses. On Enterprise, each extra shop location gets its own BytePhase account, called a branch.
For example, a phone repair shop might bill repairs under one name and accessory sales under a second name. That is two businesses in one account. A second shop across town, with its own staff, is a branch.

Your account
Section titled “Your account”Your account holds your subscription and your web address. It also holds your country, currency and time zone, and everything your team uses to run the shop. You can see its details under Settings › Business settings › Shop profile.
A business
Section titled “A business”A business is a name you bill under, inside your account. Each business has its own:
- name, logo, signature and contact details
- GST, PAN and MSME details (tax number, or GST number in India)
- bank accounts, and in India its UPI and payment QR
- document numbers, terms and conditions, and print settings
- email, SMS and WhatsApp signatures
- stock, prices, services and rental devices
An easy way to remember it: anything a customer sees on a document belongs to one business. Anything you use to run the shop is shared.

Every employee can work in every business. Any business can serve the same customer.
A document always keeps its own business
Section titled “A document always keeps its own business”A document belongs to the business that created it. The business is set when you save the document. It can never be changed after that.
When you print it, download the PDF or share it on WhatsApp, it always shows that business’s name, logo, tax number, numbering and bank details. It doesn’t matter which business you have picked in the switcher. See The printout shows the wrong business details.
The business switcher
Section titled “The business switcher”The switcher shows the business you are working in right now.
- On a computer: it is at the top of the left menu. If the menu is folded away, it is in the top bar.
- On a phone: it is in the top bar.
Open it to see your businesses. The current one has a tick. You’ll also see Add business.
Changing the business changes what you see: your lists, your filters, and which business a new document is created for. It doesn’t move any saved record. The switcher always points at one business.
Reports have their own business filter. It also offers All businesses, which shows the figures of every business together. Customer figures, leads, tasks and the ledger look the same whichever business you pick, because they are shared.
How many businesses you can have
Section titled “How many businesses you can have”Lite and Basic include one business. Standard and Enterprise let you run two businesses in one account. See Plans and what’s included and bytephase.com/pricing.
A branch (Enterprise)
Section titled “A branch (Enterprise)”A branch is a separate shop location. Each branch has its own BytePhase account, with its own web address, team, customers, stock, documents and settings. Nothing is shared between branches. A report in one branch never includes another branch’s figures. When you buy or renew Enterprise, the plan and renewal date stay the same in every branch.
- The Enterprise plan includes 3 branches. You can add more by contacting BytePhase.
- The BytePhase team links your branches together.
- To go to another branch, click or tap your logo at the top of the menu and pick the branch.
- The list shows only the branches where you have a login with the same email address or mobile number.
- Opening another branch may ask you to sign in.
