glossary, terms, workspace, shop, account, tenant, business, company, firm, branch, job, repair ticket, job card, job sheet, status, stage, plan, feature, module, what does this word mean, meaning, explained, basics, words used, staff accessBytePhase is built around three things. Your BytePhase account holds everything. Inside it are one or more businesses that you bill customers as. And each repair is a job.
What you see in BytePhase depends on three more things: your plan, which features are turned on, and what your shop owner lets you do.
Your BytePhase account
Section titled “Your BytePhase account”Your BytePhase account has one web address, for example yourshop.bytephase.com. It has one subscription and one set of data. Your staff, customers and settings all belong to it. So do your lists of device types, brands, statuses and taxes. In Settings, you’ll see it called Shop profile.
Business
Section titled “Business”A business is the name you bill customers under. Each business has its own name, tax number, logo, bank and UPI details, document numbers, terms and print settings.
Most shops have one business. On the Standard plan and above, you can add a second one. For example, one business registered for GST and one that is not.
Every job, invoice, quotation, sale, payment and part belongs to one business. This is set when you create it. Customers and staff are shared by all your businesses.

Branch (Enterprise)
Section titled “Branch (Enterprise)”On the Enterprise plan, each extra shop location is a branch. A branch is a separate BytePhase account, with its own data, staff and settings. Branches don’t share customers or stock. Enterprise includes 3 branches. The BytePhase team can add more.
A job is the record of one repair. It holds the customer, the device, the problem, the work done, the parts and services used, and the money. For example, a job for Rohan’s phone with a cracked screen. Other apps call this a repair ticket, job card, service ticket or work order.
The job sheet is the document for a job that you print or share with the customer.

Statuses and stages
Section titled “Statuses and stages”Each job has a status. It shows where the work is, for example In Process. BytePhase gives you these statuses to start with. They are sorted into four stages:
| Stage | Statuses you start with |
|---|---|
| Open | Inward · In Process · Awaiting Approval · On Hold · Outsourced |
| Closed | Completed · Completed and Delivered |
| Rejected | Cancelled · Cancelled and Delivered |
| Returned | Return - In Process · Return - Awaiting Approval |
You can rename statuses and add your own. Each status belongs to one stage. The stage decides if a job counts as open or finished in lists and reports.

Your plan is Lite, Basic, Standard or Enterprise. It decides which features your account has. A feature that isn’t in your plan doesn’t disappear. Instead, it shows a padlock and an offer to upgrade. During the free trial, you get the Standard features.

Features
Section titled “Features”An admin can turn whole features on or off for everyone, on the Features page. AMC and Rentals are two examples. This only works for features in your plan. Turning a feature off hides it. It never deletes your data. Outside India, ten features start turned off.

Roles: what each person can do
Section titled “Roles: what each person can do”Each staff member has a role: Admin, Technician, Reception, Delivery, Account, Marketing or Sale. The role sets what they can do at the start. It also sets what shows in the bottom bar of their phone app.
On the Standard plan and above, you can change what each person can do. You do this on that staff member’s Permissions tab.
