Connect your website form
Send enquiries and repair requests from your WordPress site or your own website form straight into BytePhase.
website form, contact form, WordPress, WordPress plugin, BytePhase Connector, Contact Form 7, Elementor, embed form, online booking, repair request form, enquiry form, website leads, self check-in from website, API key, store ID, form not working, submissionsUse this when you want people who fill in a form on your website to show up in BytePhase automatically. Each form sent becomes a Self check-in (a device booked in for repair) or a Lead (someone who is only asking).
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You can connect this on every plan. To see the enquiries, you need the Standard plan or higher.
- Have your website’s admin login ready, or ask the person who looks after your website to help.
- Don’t see Connect? Ask your shop owner to let you connect integrations.
-
Go to Settings › Integrations. On a phone, tap More › System › Integrations.
-
Under Website & forms, find WordPress or Custom website and click Connect.
-
Under What should happen when someone submits this form?, choose Self check-in or Lead. Click Next.
Desktop -
Copy the connection details BytePhase shows you. They depend on what you picked:
- WordPress: the API key, BytePhase API address and Store ID.
- Custom website: the API key and the Webhook URL.
The API key is shown only once. Copy it now and keep it somewhere safe.
-
Follow How to connect on the same screen:
- WordPress: install the BytePhase Connector plugin (use Get the plugin). In your WordPress admin, open BytePhase › Connection and paste the three details. Use the plugin’s Test connection button.
- Custom website: open Code examples and give the HTML form example to whoever edits your website.
Desktop -
Send your website form once as a test, then click Check now.
You see Test submission captured. If you can’t send a test yet, click Skip for now.
-
Click Next. Under Review field matches, check that each field from your form points to the right BytePhase field. Your form must send an email address or a mobile number.
-
Click Next. Under If this customer already exists…, choose Create a new record or Skip the submission. BytePhase matches customers by mobile number or email.
-
Click Next, check the summary and click Activate integration.
You see Integration ready.
Set up the plugin in WordPress
Section titled “Set up the plugin in WordPress”-
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins › Add New. Search for “BytePhase Connector”, then install and activate it.
-
Open BytePhase › Connection.
-
Paste the three details from BytePhase into BytePhase API Address, Store ID and API Key. The API address is not the address you sign in at.
-
Click Save, then Test Connection.
-
Choose the form to use:
- No form yet: add the plugin’s built-in enquiry form or self check-in form to a page with its shortcode. The plugin’s page on WordPress.org lists both.
- Contact Form 7 or Elementor Pro: your form works as it is. Send it once, then open BytePhase › Forms and choose what it Creates.
In Elementor, give each form its own Form Name and don’t rename it later. BytePhase tells your forms apart by that name. If a form can’t reach BytePhase, the plugin tries again by itself. BytePhase › Health in WordPress shows what was sent.
Check what came in
Section titled “Check what came in”On the Integrations page, click View activity on the card. Each form sent shows as Received, Successful, Duplicate or Failed. Click one to see what was sent. After fixing a problem, use Retry on a failed one.
If 3 or more forms fail in a row, the card shows a red failing badge.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- You can connect more than one form. On the activity page, use Add another form.
- If the API key gets out, use Rotate key. The old key stops working at once, so paste the new one into your plugin or website.
- Disconnect stops all forms. The history of what came in is kept.
- If you choose Self check-in on Lite or Basic, each form shows as Failed with “Self check-in is not available on your current plan.”
