Use this when the stock count in BytePhase doesn’t match your shelf. For example, a screen broke while fitting it, or you counted the drawer and found two more batteries.

  • To see the history, ask your shop owner to let you view parts (Parts & Inventory — View parts).
  • To adjust stock, you also need Parts & Inventory — Add & edit parts.
  • The part must have Track stock turned on.
  1. Go to Inventory and open the part.

On a phone: tap More, then Inventory under Stock & assets, then tap the part.

  2. Open the Stock history tab.

Each row is one change, newest first:

    • Transaction: the job, sale or purchase that used or added the part, or the words “Adjusted Stock (+)” or “Adjusted Stock (-)” for a manual change.
    • Qty: how many went in or out.
    • Closing stock: how many were left after that change.
    • Remarks: the note typed with a manual change.
    • Created on: when it happened.
    Desktop
  1. Go to Inventory and open the part.

  2. At the top right, click Adjust stock.

The Adjust stock quantity window opens. It shows the part’s current stock.

  3. Under Add or reduce stock, choose “Add(+)” or “Reduce(-)”.

  4. Type the number in Adjust quantity.

New stock level shows what the stock will be after you save.

  5. In Remarks (optional), type why, for example “Cracked while fitting”.

    Desktop
  6. Click Save.

You see “Part adjusted”. A new row appears on the Stock history tab.

  • Always use Adjust stock to fix a count. If you change the number in Edit part instead, the stock changes but no row is added to the stock history.
  • Jobs, sales and purchases change stock on their own. Adding a part to a job or sale takes it out of stock. Removing it puts it back. A purchase adds stock.
  • Reduce can take stock below zero. BytePhase doesn’t stop a manual reduction, so check New stock level before you save.
  • Each business has its own stock. Make sure the business switcher shows the business the part belongs to.
