Track referrals, and refer other shops to BytePhase

There are two different things called “referral” in BytePhase:

• Referred by tracks word of mouth in your own shop: which customer sent a new customer or a new job to you.
• Refer & earn is BytePhase’s own programme. You recommend BytePhase to another repair shop, and both shops get free subscription time.

Record who referred a customer

1. When you add or edit a customer, find Referred by. Pick the customer who sent them.

   If you don’t see the field, open Only when needed below the form.

2. When you add a job, you can fill in Referred by there too.

   On sales the Referred by field is off by default. Turn it on with Form setup on the new sale page.

3. Save as usual.

See what a customer has sent your way

1. Go to Customers and open the customer who did the referring.

2. Click the Referred customers tab.

   You see every job and sale where this customer is the Referred by. The Type column says whether it’s a job or a sale.

Done!

You can now see which customers bring you the most new work, and thank them.

Refer another shop to BytePhase (Refer & earn)

Every staff member can open Refer & earn. Customers who sign in don’t see it.

1. On a computer, click your name at the top right. At the bottom of the menu, click Refer & earn.

   On a phone, open More and tap your profile picture at the top right. Under Help & support, tap Refer & earn.

2. Under Your referral link, click Copy link, or click Share on WhatsApp to send it to a shop you know.

3. The other shop signs up with your link. When they buy an annual plan, your free time is added to your subscription by itself. There’s nothing to claim.

The page shows how much free time each side gets. Under Your rewards you see the Shops you referred and how many Bought an annual plan. The Your referrals and Reward activity tabs list each shop and each reward. There’s no limit on how many shops you refer.

Good to know

• Referred by is shared. Customers belong to your whole BytePhase account, so every business sees who referred whom. The Referred customers tab lists only the jobs and sales of the business you’re working in.
• On leads the field is called Referred by customer. It’s off by default.
• Refer & earn rewards apply to your BytePhase subscription only. They aren’t money and aren’t paid to your customers.
