Turn a feature on or off

Available on Basic and above

On Lite, the Features page shows a padlock.

Compare plans

The Features page turns whole features on or off for everyone in your shop. Use it to switch on a feature that your plan has but that isn’t showing yet. You can also hide features your shop doesn’t use, so the menus stay short.

Before you start

• Needs the Basic plan or higher.
• Only people who can open and change Settings can use this page. Owners and admins can do this already. If you can’t, ask your shop owner.
• The page only lists features that are in your plan. To get a feature your plan doesn’t have, see Plans and what’s included.

Steps

On a computer

1. At the bottom of the menu on the left, click Settings.

2. Click App & account. Then, under How the app behaves, click Features.

   The page opens with the heading Turn on feature.

   Outside India, there is a shortcut. Click More features in the left menu, just above Settings.

3. Click Edit.

4. Turn on the switch next to each feature you want. Turn off the switch next to each one you want to hide.

5. Click Save.

   You see the message Feature settings saved. The app reloads with the new menus.

Desktop

On a phone

1. In the bottom bar, tap More.

2. Under System, tap Settings.

3. Tap App & account, then tap Features.

   The Features screen opens, with the heading Turn on feature.

   Outside India, there is a shortcut. Tap More features in the last group of the More menu.

4. Tap Edit.

5. Turn on the switch next to each feature you want. Turn off the switch next to each one you want to hide.

6. Tap Save.

   You see the message Feature settings saved. The app reloads with the new menus.

Done!

The features you turned on now show in the menus and in Create / + for everyone allowed to use them. The ones you turned off are hidden.

Off at the start outside India

If your shop is outside India, these ten features start turned off, even when your plan has them:

Good to know

• Turning a feature off never deletes data. Turn it back on and everything is still there.
• The change is for your whole BytePhase account: every business and every staff member.
• After you turn a feature on, each staff member still needs to be allowed to use it. See I can’t find a menu item or button.
