Byte is the assistant built into BytePhase. Ask it how to do something, and it answers from the BytePhase help, in your language. If you need a person, it puts you through to our support team in the same chat.

  1. Ask

    Type or speak your question.

  2. Get an answer

Byte replies from the BytePhase help, often with a button to the right screen.

  3. Need a person?

Click Go to human and our team joins the chat.

  • Sign in to BytePhase as a staff member. Byte isn’t shown to customers.
  • You need an internet connection. Your chat is saved if you go offline.
  1. Click the headset button in the top bar (BytePhase Assistant).

Byte opens on the right. You see Help for this page (2), which opens the help article for the screen you’re on, and Suggested questions (3).

  2. Pick one of the Suggested questions, or type your own in Ask Byte about BytePhase… (4) and press Send.

  3. Read the answer. A Go to button (1) opens the screen it talks about, and Help center (2) opens the full help article. Under each answer you can rate, copy, regenerate or listen to it (3).

  1. Type that you want to talk to someone, for example “I want to talk to support”. Byte also offers this when it isn’t sure of an answer: “Want to be sure? A member of our team can check your account directly.”
  2. Click Go to human. You see “Connecting you with our support team”. A person usually joins within a few minutes, and the chat shows “You’re chatting with a support agent”.
  3. If our team is away, you see “Live support is offline”. Leave your question; we reply, usually within a few hours.

If nobody has joined after a few minutes, Byte creates a support ticket for you so it isn’t lost. To go back to Byte, click Back to Byte.

  • Attach image or PDF: add a screenshot of what you see (images or PDF, up to 25 MB).
  • Voice input: speak your question instead of typing.
  • Read aloud, Copy and Share an answer.
  • Mark an answer Helpful or Not helpful, or click Regenerate for a new answer.
  • Start new chat starts fresh; History lists earlier chats, and you can Pin the ones you use often.
  • Questions can be up to 500 characters.
  • If you ask a lot in a short time, you see “Just a quick breather”. Byte is ready again in a few seconds.
  • “You’re offline” means there’s no internet. Your chat is saved; click Try again when you’re back online.
  • Byte also suggests Request a callback or Book a training when a call would help more.
